Booklet design

A car-leasing and consulting service based in Los Angeles that helps international students navigate driving, licensing, insurance, and car purchase regulations. Many of their clients are students new to the U.S., unfamiliar with DMV regulations, insurance options, and car-ownership processes.
The booklet was created to serve as a helpful guide: a friendly, easy-to-understand starting point for first-time drivers in California, tailored specifically for international students.
Problem
International students often feel overwhelmed by the complexity of California regulations around driving, licensing, insurance, sales, and registration.
Existing resources were mostly long, text-heavy, and full of legal jargon — not friendly to new arrivals or non-native speakers.
Fastrack Auto needed a compact, approachable, visually clear guide that simplifies all essential information and helps students get on the road with confidence.

Design Strategy & Concept
User-first readability: Prioritize clarity. Use clear headings, icons, and structured layout to break down complex information into digestible blocks.
Visual identity alignment: Use Fastrack Auto’s brand colors (dark/light gray + orange-red highlight) to build brand consistency while ensuring readability.
Information hierarchy: Organize content by topic (licensing, insurance, purchasing, maintenance) so users can easily skim and find what they need.
Friendly tone & international-student friendly design: Design with non-native speakers in mind — avoid dense text blocks; use white space, simple graphics/icons, and visual emphasis to guide reading flow.
Print-ready & digital-friendly: Layout should work as both a physical booklet and a downloadable PDF. Ensure margins, bleed, and readability for A5/A4 print formats.
